O’Reilly USCS announces 60 event National schedule for it’s 10th Anniversary season

Atlanta, GA – The O’Reilly Auto Parts United Sprint Car Series has announced it’s 2006 and 10th Anniversary “Million Dollar Thunder” Tour for winged Outlaw sprint cars. The sixty-night schedule of events covers 10 states and makes visits to 33 different speedways including 10 paved ovals and 23 dirt ovals. The “Million Dollar Thunder” Tour kicks off next Monday night February 6th at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida during the speedways 35th annual Winternationals with a double-header offering a possible $10,000 payday over nights. The mega-tour will end ten months and five days later on November 11th back on dirt at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi with another $10,000 paycheck possible.

Between those two big February and November events, the O’Reilly USCS “Million Dollar Thunder” Tour will invade speedways in ten Southeastern and Midwestern states. The sprawling 2006 series schedule has been divided into five sub-series in addition to the National title chase. This divisional concept allows the O’Reilly USCS competitors an opportunity to stay close to home and race for any of three regional titles. Those regional series include; the O’Reilly USCS Mid-South Thunder Tour with 30 races scheduled at tracks in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Missouri plus Middle and West Tennessee. The second regional series is the O’Reilly USCS Southern Thunder Tour which includes 30 events scheduled at tracks in Alabama, Florida, Georgia South Carolina, and Tennessee. The O’Reilly USCS Carolina Thunder Tour is the third division and will contest a 20 night schedule at tracks in Eastern Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

There are also two other National titles that are racing surface specific available to compete in. Those two are the new O’Reilly USCS Dirt Cup that will crown a Champion from a schedule of 40 dirt track events and the 8th annual O’Reilly USCS “Asphalt Thunder” Tour pavement only title chase involving 16 events at 10 tracks. The 2006 O’Reilly USCS National Championship Series will award points at all Asphalt Thunder events as well as at most dirt events including all of those on the O’Reilly USCS Dirt Cup schedule to declare a National Champion for the 10th Anniversary season.

Total posted prize money and awards for the 2006 O’Reilly USCS season will be approximately One Million dollars with nearly $200,000 in cash and contingency awards possible to a single driver. A sweep of all series Championships could net a driver nearly $35,000 in cash and contingencies at the season’s end awards banquet.

The O’Reilly USCS continues to be one of the Premier open wheel racing series in the nation and the only winged Outlaw style sprint car series in the World whose drivers contend for a National Championship on both dirt and paved ovals. Six of those O’Reilly USCS drivers finished in the top 25 in the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame’s North American winged 360-sprint car poll at the end of the 2005 season.

O’Reilly USCS Founder and President, Pete Walton said “We are really excited about the continued growth of the USCS over the past two years. I just want to thank all the teams, our sponsors and especially the media that have supported our series for the help they have been in taking USCS to another level again for 2006. It looks like everything is falling in place for another great season. We will be releasing our regional and asphalt series schedules this week as well the new O’Reilly Dirt Cup format and more details will be available with those releases.”
