Sprint Car veteran Pruitt Looking for team.Veteran Sprint car driver Kyle Pruitt is looking for a team to race with in 2013.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"Due to the economy I can not field a team on my own at this time", says Pruitt. The Veteran has raced in Pa for the past 8 seasons in 410s, 358s and 360s with numerous top tens, and heat wins against the toughest competition outside the World of Outlaws. He has 2 main event wins also in 305s at Virginia Motor Speedway. " I would really like to get with a team that knows the tracks and setups so we can work together for wins and consistency". Pruitt says for the right team he can bring along some financial and parts help so the team can keep fresh equipment and race hard. Any interested owners can contact Kyle direct at 301-676-8456.SprintCarNews.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13164054225156131032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20402461.post-22324631678408696002013-04-10T21:34:00.000-04:002013-04-10T21:34:03.306-04:00Point Chase Starts Saturday at Mercer Raceway ParkMercer, PA (April 9, 2013): After a successful Chiller Thriller, Mercer Raceway Park will host its first Saturday Night Live! event of the 2013 racing season on April 13. And, to add to the excitement, the points chase will begin immediately for all six of the classes. All but one of the reigning champions are expected to be on hand to begin their title defenses.
Eric Williams, of Greenville, will look to build upon a remarkable 2012 racing season. In addition to snaring his first championship at Mercer Raceway Park, "Turkey" was a top five finisher at Lernerville Speedway last year. He will go to the post in his familiar number 7 Sprint Car. He will get plenty of competition from Scott Priester, pilot of the Martha Dionise number 15. Although he did not pick up a feature win, Priester was one of the most consistent runners at the speedway. The father and son duo of Brent and Brandon Matus, and many more, will be on hand. The 410 Sprint Car division will be presented by Luxaire Heating & Cooling and New Wilmington Motors in 2013.
The Approved Toilet Rentals 358 Modified class will be up for grabs in 2013, as Greenville's Rob Curtis is likely to miss the opening event. His car owner, Larry Riffe, reported last week that the team has yet to secure some needed financial support for the campaign. There will be no shortage of talent, though. Former champions Jimmy Holden and Frankie Guidace are ready. Mix in veterans like Lonnie Riggs, Matt Reeher, Ron Eperthener, and Kyle Fink, and young drivers like Max Smoker and Makayla Guidace, and you have the makings of a pretty stout field.
Joe McEwen, of Mercer, will lead the way in the Outlaw Sprint Warriors. That class is under the Bonnell's Collision Center banner for 2013. Interest is running high for this division, as thee were more Sprint Warriors than any other class represented at the annual car show. Rookie of the year C.J. Jones, Cavalcade award winner Jimmy Morris, Harold Braden, Jr., and Jacob Lagastee were just some of the other drivers who had their cars on display, so you know that they will be ready for action.
Trusty Rusty Moore was flying at the Chiller Thriller in his Stock Car before he pitted due to a mechanical problem. The New Castle driver got it fixed and returned to finish sixth. He'll be looking to get a jump on a three-peat in the Precise Racing Products sponsored class. It won't be easy, though, as Joe Kelley and a host of others will try to unseat him. The question of the day will be whether Hot Rod Laskey can get his mount repaired after his hard front stretch crash last week.
Can Mark Marcucci match his stellar performance in the Modified Lites? The racer from West Middlesex dominated the division in 2012, but 2011 champ Darrin Gallagher will be ready to take him on. A number of Mercer Mod Lite drivers saw action in Florida in February, so a banner field is expected. Once again, the class benefactors are Big Daddy's Speed Center and Rock Concrete.
Evans City's Steve Longwell, Jr. will go for family bragging rights, as well as an early points lead this Saturday. His father, Steve Sr., and his brother-in-law, Joel Wisser, would like to set him back a notch or two, though. Ed Haylett reported last week that he'll have his "green machine" ready to go, too. The Mini Stocks will race for Eperthener's Auto Wrecking and Ray's Racing Collectibles this season.
Gates will open at 4, hot laps will start at 6:30, and racing will begin at 7.
General admission for adults will be $13. Seniors (60 and over) will be $11, and students (ages 9-18) will be $5. Children (8 and under) are always free. The economical Family Pass will be $28 and that will be good for up to two adults and four minors. Pit passes will be $25.
Remember that alerts regarding any cancellation of the racing activity can be sent to your smart phone or other electronic devices. Just go to the track website and click on the icon for RainedOut.com and follow the easy steps to sign up.

Coming Saturday and Sunday, March 9 and 10, the Patriot Sprint Tour will once again have a strong presence at the Gater Racing News Motorsports Exposition and Trade Show. For this 10th anniversary season, six of the young guns of the series will have their cars on display to make the PST booth one of the can’t-miss spots in the New York State Fairground’s Center of Progress Building.
For the second consecutive year, the Patriot Sprint Tour will crown separate champions for the American and Canadian races, but with this trade show held in the heart of Central New York, the PST lineup will include five of the top nine in the final 2012 PST America standings, all of whom are in their 20s.
Taking center stage this year will be Scott Kreutter, of Alden, NY, the defending PST America Champion. Kreutter will look to defend his title this year in his Hoddick Motorsports entry.
Four-time PST Champion Bryan Howland, of Auburn, NY, was second in points last year and has been a staple at the Motorsports Expo ever since his first series title back in 2005.
Fourth in points last year was Tommy Wickham, of Constantia, NY and will be in the PST booth for the first time, as will his travel partners Steven Hutchinson Jr. and Brandan Warner. Hutchinson, of Oswego, was the 2012 Insinger Race Fuels Rookie of the Year while Warner, of Liverpool, NY, had his No. 10b named the best-appearing car of 2012.
Bruce DeWick, of Geneva, NY, has already started his 2013 season, competing in Florida, and will have his car on display as he gets set for a full assault on the PST America tour this year.
The 27th annual Motorsports Expo is once again packed into two big days, starting off on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. and lasting until 9:00 P.M. On Sunday, the show will run from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Gater Racing News, the host for this great event, will also be presenting the Hard Charger of the Season Award for the Patriot Sprint Tour, the eighth year of this fun series. Saturday, the team loaded up for the first of a 2 day show at Fremont Speedway. On a very wet and heavy track, a high pill draw landed Paige a 6th place starting spot in the 3rd heat. A misjudging of the gear on the heavy track, Paige fell back to an 8th place finish in the heat. After some adjustments and a gear change, she would start the B Main in the 9th and final starting spot. Making a charge from the time the green dropped to the checkered flew, Paige raced up to 3rd, earning an A Main transfer position. With starting 18th in the A Main, another charge was in store for the 27 entry, passing 5 cars in the first few laps, Paige was on the move again. Keeping an eye on the temp gauge due to some over heating concerns, Paige was sitting just outside the top 10 on the lap 13 caution. Entering the top 10 a few laps later, Polyak was running the cushion hard in 1 and 2. A last lap pass coming off turn 4, earned a 6th place finish and the hard charger award for the 2nd race in a row.

Sunday morning the focus switched for a few hours away from racing as Paige and twin sister Kelsey prepared for their high school graduation ceremony. Leaving high school for the last time, the race was on to Fremont Speedway to be reunited with her sprint car. Another bad pill draw resulted in a 6th place heat race starting position. Needing a 4th place finish to get into the A Main invert, Paige raced into the 4th position before the checkered flag fell. Being able to use her average points now that she has raced two shows at Fremont, Paige would start 4th in the A Main. A lap 2 mishap resulted in a spin and restarting at the tail end of the 22 car field. Once the green was displayed the charge was on from the tail once again. By the halfway mark, Paige was sitting in the 14th position. With the field stretching out each lap and only one caution to bunch the field up, charging through the pack was a bit harder on this night. As the checkered flag flew, Paige crossed the finish line in 11th, once again making a great charge from the back of the pack. Not the finish she was hoping for on graduation day but, the car rolled into the trailer and is set to return to the track on June 8th. A thanks goes out to the racing family members that helped in the new radiator purchase for Sunday and to The Hawk for his help this weekend. The HE Rudy Trucking, Steyer Seed, Bryan Auto Plaza, JLH Construction, Handy Grafix, Napa Auto Parts of Bryan, Circle H Tire, Lakeshore Electric Motor, Ned F Gregg Reality, Meggitt Powder Coating, Kistler Race Products, Oliver Motorsports entry will return to action the weekend of June 8th and 9th. The racing card will also include five of Mercer's classes, for a full night of competition.
Small in stature, but big on power, the Midgets are one of America's oldest types of racing cars and the ARDC has a long history of presenting exciting contests for them up and down the eastern seaboard. Drivers who have won ARDC races include international driving star Mario Andretti and Indy 500 veteran Pancho Carter.
The current crop of ARDC stars is headed by points leader Trevor Kobylarz, the son of former ARDC champion Brian Kobylarz. Trevor captured his first win of the season at the club's last outing, in Winchester, VA, and he will be gunning for a double. He'll have stiff competition from the likes of Nick Wean, a former winner at the Park, Brandon Bright, Brett Arndt, Parker Evans, Mark Gilmore, Steve Craig, andmany more. The field will even include members of the famous Buckwalter clan, among them Tim and Bruce.
Returning to his roots will be Wampum's Joe Butera. Joe raced in the Luxaire Heating & Cooling Sprint Car division for several seasons before switching to the smaller cars. He would like nothing more than to score his first Midget win before familiar faces.
In addition to the ARDC Midgets, the Approved Toilet Rentals 358 Modifieds, Precise Racing Products Stock Cars, and Ti22 Performance Outlaw Sprint Warriors will be in action. The Modified Lites, presented by Big Daddy's Speed Center and Rock Concrete, and the Mini Stocks will round out the program.
All of that racing fun will be yours for the low price of $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and $7 for students. Children age 8 and under will be free. The Family Pass will admit two adults and up to four children of any age for just $32. Pit Passes will be $30.
The gates will swing open at 4 p.m., and racing will begin at 7 p.m. Come out early, so you can get your favorite seats!

In the storied history of Ohio auto racing, which began in 1897, there has never been a touring non wing sprint car series devoted to the state. The BOSS tour is excited to set the stage at one of the oldest and premiere facilities on the schedule, the 61 year old Fremont Speedway.
The traditional style BOSS sprint cars made their debut in 2011 with 2 events. Ione, California native Justin Grant scored the win at K-C Raceway aboard the Hery Motorsports #40. In October, 30 cars from 8 states competed at Wayne County Speedway where Russiaville, Indiana driver Dustin Smith scored a popular win piloting the #37 Lee's Hydraulics entry. The question now is when will the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series have it's first winner from the Buckeye State?
Drivers from 5 states have expressed interest in the Fremont opener which is being co-sanctioned with the Lane Automotive Michigan Traditional Sprint Series. Fans will delight in "Root's Poultry Night" which will also include the FAST winged sprint car series and the Fremont Dirt Trucks. A full field of BOSS and MTS points runners will be on hand, gunning for the $2,000 winners share and to battle the best of the local non wing racers. Several 305 sprint teams have also expressed an interest in taking the wing off and the BOSS series is proud to announce that Kear's Speed Shop in Tiffin, Ohio has come on board to sponsor a $100 bonus to the highest finishing steel block motor in the main event.
In addition to the $100 cash steel block bonus, drivers will also be competing for a $50 cash Hard Charger of the race award sponsored by Letemgrow.org. This award will go to the driver advancing the most positions in the A-Main event. A "Hard Luck" Award $50 gift certificate is also being awarded by BOSS officials courtesy of Saldana Race Products and SBI Fuel Systems. 2Grafic Distributions will provide framed photos of the A-Main and B-Main winners.
Once again, Hoosier Racing Tire and American Racer have come on board to sponsor driver bonuses to the highest A-Main finisher on all four of their brand of tire. The Hoosier tire bonus will be a certificate for a free right rear tire and the American Racer bonus will be a $100 certificate toward the purchase of any American Racer Tire. The BOSS series has an open tire rule, but drivers are limited to using the same right rear in their heat race and the A-Main event.
In other BOSS news, several new sponsors have come on board to help with the 2012 season and the points fund. BOSS would like to welcome All Pro Cylinder Heads, Kears Speed Shop, 2Grafic Distributions, Pro Shocks, SBI Fuel Systems, Saldana Race Products, Cleanway Carpet Cleaning, E.A. Home Supply, Hoosier Race Tire, American Racer, Ham Signs, Letemgrow.org, French Grimes Race Systems, ProStar Web Design and Indy Race Parts to the tour. In addition, the BOSS series would like to welcome Rick Lane and Rick Rarer as the official photographers of the series.
For the Fremont Speedway event, gates will open at 4 pm with racing action underway at 7 pm. Drivers are reminded that Schoenfeld Mufflers are required at Fremont along with Raceceivers. Fremont also uses transponders to help accurately score and time the racing events. There are no membership fees or sign-up fees to race with BOSS. This event will go by pill draw for heat race line-ups. Drivers who plan to attend this, or any BOSS events should contact the series to be included in promotional materials. I’ve never been able to put up huge win totals on a yearly basis, but winning at least one race for the last 16 years is an accomplishment that not many drivers can say they have done.”<br /><br />Another reason for Kevin to be proud of this accomplishment is the fact that he was able to win in so many different styles of cars, and at multiple race tracks. To date, Kevin has wins in 125cc, 270cc and 600cc Micro Sprints, Super Sportsman, 358 Sprint Cars and 410 Sprint Cars at 17 different speedways throughout the United States.<br /><br />Kevin attributes being a quick learner to his success in such a wide variety of cars. “I always picked up the driving techniques of different kinds of cars pretty quickly. Once I moved into the bigger cars, such as the Super Sportsman, it took a little bit longer. But luckily, we were still able to win a few races as a rookie in that, and then as a rookie again with the 358 cars.”<br /><br />When asked if he has a favorite win that sticks out above the rest, Kevin quickly replied. “Going to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2000 and winning a Golden Driller Trophy at the Tulsa Shootout is definitely the win that I’m most proud of. It was only my 3rd career 600cc Micro Sprint start and there were like 90 cars in my class and we dominated the entire weekend there. That was pretty awesome.”<br /><br />This season, Kevin will have many opportunities to continue his streak. In addition to driving the Dietz Motorsports #14 410 Sprint Car at Lincoln Speedway on a weekly basis, Kevin will again be behind the wheel of the familiar #21T 358 Sprint Car for Mansberger-Nouse Motorsports. That team will concentrate its efforts at Williams Grove Speedway, as well as some additional races that don’t conflict with his 410 schedule.<br /><br />And for Kevin, it’s all about having a good time. “I’m not going to drive one of these things forever, so it’s important to enjoy the experience while you’re doing it. I certainly haven’t had a Hall of Fame type career like some of my competitors have had, and that’s fine. But the streak is something that I can hang my hat on and it’s also something that nobody can ever take away from me. I just hope to continue it one more year and enjoy the hell out of it while I’m doing it.”SprintCarNews.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13164054225156131032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20402461.post-50102599694699072292012-02-11T10:40:00.001-05:002012-02-11T10:40:33.806-05:00K-C/Atomic Speedway For SaleCHILLICOTHE, OHIO- The historic Atomic Speedway, most recently Schrader's K-C Raceway, near Chillicothe, Ohio is up for sale and as of press time will not open in 2012.<br /> Tough economic times and bad weather that resulted in small attendance figures at various junctures--including last spring, whittled away at the economic foundation to keep the track open. While car counts were at near record numbers, and the racing was the same high quality that Atomic was historically known for, the economics of sustaining another season were not there. Over the past three years, the speedway was owned and operated by Jeff and Vicki Schrader.<br /> "As of Monday the track is again 100 percent mine," said Jimmy Nier. "And the whole operation is up for sale. If I keep it, the track will not open in 2012. At this point in my life I want to dedicate my time to my racing and my family."<br /> Nier is a talented Sprint car driver in the Midwest and is a two-time K-C Champion as well as winning a "Night the Stars Come Out" championship and posting wins with the All-Star Circuit of Champions. Most recently, Nier has been one of the top guns in the Ohio Valley Sprint Car circuit.<br /> "The first time around I put a ton of money into making improvements. I love that place and that's why I bought it the first time around; to keep it open. But as I said before when we put it up for sale three years ago, I don't want to see my Mom and Dad work themselves to death at the race track. If I own it, I know that is what they would do. They love Atomic Speedway as well."<br /> Nier bought the track from Jason Laugherty, who after one night of being an owner-promoter threw in the towel. For the previous 18 years, the Karshner family operated the speedway as K-C Raceway. <br /> In 1953 a group of Chillicothe businessmen realized a plan that had been in the making for several years. The group, which consisted of racing fans, drivers, and car owners, sought to provide a premier racing facility for the rapidly growing sport they knew as Stock Car Racing. It was a sport they lived and loved. It was the vision of this particular group of men--the Chillicothe Stock Car Racing Association-- that led to the construction of Atomic Speedway, which became known nationwide as K-C Raceway in 1985. As of October 14, 2011 K-C Raceway once again became Atomic Speedway in a move the Schrader's hoped would help bring prosperity back to the track.<br /> Nier noted that the track "can be a money maker". <br /> "The first couple years we ran the place, I tried to run it like a race fan and we lost money. The last few years we ran it like a business and we made money. If someone comes along and runs it like a business, I am confident they will make a go of it."<br /> "As much as I hate to see the track close, it just isn't going to open unless a buyer comes along."<br /> Additionally, the fate of the DTWC has been decided. The 2012 Dirt Track World Championship (originally set for Atomic) will be held at Portsmouth Raceway Park under the Lucas Oil banner.<br /> For more information about Atomic Speedway, please contact Jimmy Nier at 340 Bailey Chapel Rd, Piketon, OH 45661-9673 or call 1-740-289-2629 or (740) 289-3925. During the ceremony the sponsor check was formally presented to the regional director of the TSRS, Joe Grandinetti, by Hilborn Fuel Injection’s Andrew Starr.<br /><br /> <br /><br />“In the short time span of this weekend I have found that the staff and racers of the TSRS are truly one big family. Their commitment to putting on a tremendous show for the fans is, perhaps, only superceded by their commitment to make racing fun,” commented Hilborn’s Andrew Starr. “The buzz over this class is infectious, and we are excited to be a part of it. We hope that our involvement will only help its growth as a premier venue that allows racers from all walks to compete competitively,” he added. <br /><br /> <br /><br />The transition from the TSRS series to the Hilborn TSRS series culminated with the unveiling of a new logo on the wing of Joe’s 2011 championship winning car displayed at the Motorsports show. The #1 car, driven by the talented Christopher Allen Jr., will once again race for the championship in 2012 using the same Hilborn power as last year. <br /><br /> <br /><br />The TSRS series, founded by regional director Joe Grandinetti, has seen the series grow primarily due to consistency in his approach to rules and conduct, while also drawing from the many years of racing experience he accumulated since returning to the race track back in 1968.<br /><br /> <br /><br />“Since this is a recreational sprint car series we follow the rules to the letter,” states Joe. “This ensures that even those with a $4,000 engine, such as in our championship winning car, are just as competitive as those with a $15,000 engine.”<br /><br /> <br /><br /> Joe is particularly proud of his racers when it comes to conduct, frequently praising them for racing six features last year that went green to checker with no stops in racing action. But make no mistake, this racing is full bore with plenty of excitement. <br /><br /> <br /><br />Joe is supported at the races by a volunteer staff which includes Doug Suiter (Head Tech), Ray McCabe (Race Director), Lisa Case (Handicapper), and a host of other volunteers such as Ken Raively and Andy Heideman. Dietz Motorsports confirmed on Tuesday that they have reached an agreement with Kevin Nouse to drive their familiar #14 car in 2012.<br /><br /><br />Dietz Motorsports, who has been a regular competitor at Lincoln Speedway for the last several seasons with drivers Doug Dodson and Brent Marks, are looking forward to the venture. “Kevin has proven himself to be a winner in whatever he drives and we are hoping to take our team to the next level with him. We felt an immediate chemistry with Kevin in our first meeting and we feel that we are going to be a great team with him driving our car.” said Chris Dietz.<br /><br /><br />For Nouse, it will mark the first time in his career that he will call Lincoln Speedway his weekly 410 Sprint Car home. In 2011, Nouse was hired by John Pinter to drive his #92 car and the two found success by putting together four top five finishes in seven races run at the Pigeon Hills oval. Nouse hopes to continue that success when he climbs behind the wheel of the #14 Maxim Chassis on opening day. “I felt like I was starting to get a grip on Lincoln Speedway a little bit last season when the Pinter deal ended. We had some good runs and probably should have won at least once, so hopefully I can continue that momentum when I go back there in 2012 with the #14 car” Nouse said. “The Dietz family puts a lot of effort into their racing program and I am honored that they asked me to drive for them. They have some nice equipment and the right attitude, so hopefully we can learn to work together quickly and have a great season together. I’m really looking forward to it.”<br /><br /><br />The Dietz Motorsports car will continue to carry sponsorship from C.C. Dietz, Inc. Builders, Hess Ornamental Iron, DMI, Keizer Wheels, Wings Unlimited, Rider Racing Engines, Kelly Racing Fuels and Pancho’s Racing Products. New sponsorship for the team will come from Nouse Signs & Graphics and Hotmark Custom Apparel.<br /><br /><br />The team’s schedule will focus primarily on weekly competition at Lincoln Speedway, with the possibility of several time trial events at various speedways being added. In 2011, the speedway embarked upon its<br />first year of 305 Sprint Car racing by launching the ti22 Performance Outlaw Sprint<br />Warriors, a class that was designed to give racers an opportunity to engage in<br />affordable Sprint Car Racing. As soon as the class debuted, fans in the know<br />wondered how would their "guys" would fare against the potent 305 Sprints that have<br />raced at Ohio venues for several years. Well, now they will get the chance to see<br />the answer first hand, as speedway officials have reached an accord with officials<br />of Fremont Speedway to allow the western cars to compete at the Little Guy<br />Nationals.<br /> <br />The 305 Sprint Cars that race regularly at Attica Raceway Park and at Fremont<br />Speedway will go head to head with the ti22 Performance Outlaw Sprint Warriors this<br />weekend! "This should be an exciting race for our fans," said Mercer Raceway Park<br />owner Bill Altman. "Plus, it will give us an opportunity to see how far our racers<br />have come in one short year of competition."<br /> <br />The rules package for the Ohio-based 305's has been modified minimally in an attempt<br />to achieve parity. Those cars will have to follow all of their normal rules,<br />including the use of steel racing wheels and their customary tire requirements.<br />However, they must also meet the ti22 Performance Outlaw Sprint Warrior weight<br />requirement of 1585 pounds.<br /> <br />For the betterment of the class, it is the objective of both organizations to move<br />toward a unified set of rules over the off-season, and discussions will take place<br />after the final checkered flag falls to work toward that goal. "This is an<br />unprecedented cooperative effort to grow the 305 class for both regions," Altman<br />added.<br /><br />As a test, last weekend, Mercer Raceway Park regular, and multi-time winner, Dennis<br />Wagner ventured west to take on the 305 Sprintsw at Fremont Speedway. He was allowed<br />to race his ti22 Performance Outlaw Sprint Warrior car without modifications.<br /> <br />Ohio racers wanting to enter the Little Guy Nationals will be required to complete<br />the entry blank and to pay the $25 entry fee for the two-day show. The entry form<br />can be obtained from the track's website at www.mercerracewaypark.com. Follow the<br />link to the information page for the Little Guy Nationals event. Or, racers can<br />complete the entry form at the track. Due to the overwhelming response to this<br />initiative, Mercer Raceway Park will waive the late entry penalty for the 305<br />Sprints coming from the west.About Mercer Raceway Park: Mercer Raceway Park is a<br />3/8-mile dirt track located minutes from both Interstate 79 and 80 just off Route 19<br />on Fairground Road in Mercer, Pa. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />Beginning this Saturday at Port Royal Speedway, Kevin will take the wheel of the Gary and Patty Beam owned #88, formerly driven by veteran driver Todd Shaffer. “This is an amazing opportunity that I just couldn’t turn down”, Nouse said. “Being offered a ride by Hall of Fame car owners and a Hall of Fame mechanic is very humbling to me. I remember watching Maynard Yingst drive that car when I was just a kid, and now I’m going to drive that car… it’s kind of crazy.”
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />As exciting as this news is, Nouse did say that it was not an easy decision to leave the Pinter Motorsports car. “I thought about it all weekend. John and Karen Pinter gave me a 410 ride in a good car and I am very grateful to them for that. We had three top five finishes in our last four races at Lincoln, and seemed to be building on something. They are great people and they treated me and my family like gold. I wish them nothing but the best moving forward.”

<br />
<br />
<br />Nouse said that the Beam team has not set a schedule for the remainder of the year, but are planning on attending most of the major events in the area

In reality, there’s nothing to be afraid of, and performance chips can actually be invaluable additions that are quite easy to install, especially compared with other performance-enhancing parts. Below, we’ll go over several factors to consider when deciding to use a <a href="http://www.myhotmustang.com/Performance-Parts/Performance-Chips/">performance computer chip</a> on your car, so you can make an educated decision on whether or not to go ahead with the installation.<br /><br /><b>The Installation Itself</b><br /><br />When someone mentions installing a performance chip, it sounds like something that involves a lot of work, a plethora of technological know-how, and keen automotive upgrading skills. Those fears should be eased after you learn that an average performance chip installation can take less than a half an hour. Most models nowadays are plug-and-play, and at most you’ll have to make some simple wire adaptations to make it work. Modern performance chips don’t even require a hard reset of the vehicle’s ECU these days, making it even less time consuming than you would think.<br /><br /><b>Performance Results</b><br /><br />If you’re looking to match the 400 horsepower gain provided by many high-end turbochargers, you’re out of luck. Performance chips can provided a smaller, but substantial horsepower boost of around 60HP. Again, it’s all relative. A performance chip is considerably less expensive than a turbo kit, and also takes a lot less time to install. If you’re looking for slight adjustments to push your car to the next level, a performance chip will suit you just fine. And with around 4-7mpg in fuel savings, your vehicle’s fuel efficiency will improve to boot.<br /><br /><b>Price</b><br /><br />Though a performance chip may sound prohibitively expensive, don’t be fooled. Unlike the thousands you’d spend on a new turbo kit or the hundreds of dollars that many other performance boosters cost, you can get a high-performing chip for around $50 or so. Plus, since you don’t need any complex tools to complete the installation, you’re saving on that cost. And the easy installation means not having to worry about paying a professional if something goes wrong during the install process, something that could easily happen with a more complex component installation. Though certainly the most money-saving thing you could do is not upgrade your car at all, if you’re looking for an improvement that’s cheap and effective, a performance chip is a solid bet to place in most circumstances.SprintCarNews.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13164054225156131032noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20402461.post-21801271131300072602011-07-12T14:13:00.002-04:002011-07-12T14:14:55.486-04:00Good Car, Bad Night<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X-UDdMUZOJI/ThyPAUvFWqI/AAAAAAAAAUA/6SFZ1omQAek/s1600/kekich%2Bwasson.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 219px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X-UDdMUZOJI/ThyPAUvFWqI/AAAAAAAAAUA/6SFZ1omQAek/s320/kekich%2Bwasson.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5628530870035241634" /></a><br />7/9/2011 - Back in action for another Saturday night at Mercer Raceway Park, the Hermitage of Agway Race Team didn't have the night they were hoping for.<br /><br />Adam lined the 5K machine up to start the first of 3 heat races on the night in the 7th spot, and with track conditions as they were that is right were he stayed. "There was just no passing to be had" Team Owner Mike Kekich commented later.<br /><br />The heat race finish set the Kekich Racing entry to start the feature from the 20th spot. Adam got busy right at the drop of the green and was up to 17th by the 11th lap. Continuing to work the top side, Adam steamed ahead and by lap 22 was challenging for the 12th place spot then a car spun and collected the 5K resulting in a broken rear axle and wheel ending the teams night. Credited with a 21st place finish the team loaded up the car to head back to the shop and make repairs to be ready for the next night of competition.<br /><br />"The car was good tonight", Adam commented after the race. Now just days away on Tuesday, July 12 at Sharon Speedway, this third annual event will be an Alzheimer’s Association Benefit Night featuring NASCAR Sprint Cup stars Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne and Dave Blaney competing in the Sprint Car division. The Governor Insurance Agency Big-Block Modifieds will also be in action. Tom’s Sewer & Septic Service is the presenting sponsor. Race time is set for 7 p.m. <br /><br />Friends of Lou Blaney will again attend the race to help celebrate the life and accomplishments of the Hall of Fame driver, who won more than 600 feature victories during a five-decade career. The legend has at least 121 Modified wins and another 11 documented in a Sprint Car at Sharon alone. Blaney passed away in 2009 after battling Alzheimer’s. <br /><br />Several well-known drivers have already stated they will be there such as Blackie Watt, Dick Bailey, Dale Johnson, Johnny Beaber, Dave Lundy, Andy Lutz, and many others. There will be six restored cars on hand including one of Lou’s old cars. <br /><br />WFMJ TV 21 personality Mike Ackelson will host a question and answer session featuring Stewart, Kahne, and Blaney at approximately 5:30 p.m. This will take place in the Fan Zone and will be open for all media and fans who wish to attend. Individual interview requests by media will not be granted. <br /><br />The Alzheimer’s Association will be on hand for the event, which is a fundraiser to raise money for the advancement of research: to provide and enhance care and support for all affected. Bricks will be sold at the cost of $75 for 4x8’s and $100 for 8x8’s for the FANWALK called "Walk to End Alzheimer's". This is more than a NASCAR night as Stewart and Kahne will be participating to support the benefit. Sharon Speedway appreciates their loyalty and commitment to help with this fundraiser.<br /><br />The Sprint Cars will be under the Midwest All Star banner running for $3,000 to-win, $300 to-start, while Sharon’s ground-pounding big blocks will be running for one of their season’s biggest purses with $2,000 to-win, $200-start. An “open tire rule” will be in effect for the Modifieds with any 92” circumference tire permitted.<br /><br />All of the region’s top Sprint Car and Big-Block Modified racers will be on hand for this rich payday and to honor a Lou Blaney, who had tremendous success in both divisions. Past Lou Blaney Memorial Sprint Car winners include Tony Stewart (2009) and Mike Lutz (2010), while the Big-Block Modifieds have been captured by Jack Johnson (2009) and Jim Rasey (2010). <br /><br />Dale Blaney, who won the Ohio Speedweek event at Sharon for the All Star Sprints on June 22, would love to capture his first win in this event. Dale owns 13 career Sharon checkered flags, while older brother Dave is a 29-time Sharon winner with 27 of those wins coming in the Sprint Car class. Kahne, who has wins all over the country, still has yet to capture a Sharon victory. Kahne qualified for the feature at the June 22 event and is hoping to improve on his 17th place finish. <br /><br />The hot off the presses third annual Lou Blaney Memorial t-shirt will be on sale featuring all of the Blaneys including the youngest and newest patriarch of the family, Ryan Blaney. <br /><br />Advance tickets are on sale, which will admit ticket holders into the grandstands one hour earlier before tickets go on sale and the gates opening at 4 p.m. An order form is available by going to Sharonspeedway.com and clicking on the Fans link and then the Tickets link or by going directly to http://www.sharonspeedway.com/wp-content/u...r-Form-2011.pdf.
