Tri-City Speedway: All Star Sprints Invade on July 3rd

FRANKLIN, PA …. Tri-City Speedway celebrates Independence Day on Tuesday July 3rd when the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Series invades the Venango County half-mile oval for The Freedom Fifty. Joined by Sharon Speedway’s Limited Sprints and the Klapec Auto Body Thundercars, the All Stars will race at Tri-City for the first time since 2002.
“We are looking forward to this event,” said Tri-City Co-Promoter Mike Graham. “We were able to put together a deal that will be a neat race for the fans and provide more exposure for the Super Sprints in our region.”
Led by defending series champion Greg Wilson and current point leader Danny Smith, the All Stars will travel to Tri-City after completing an eight-day stretch of racing that includes the 25th Annual Ohio Sprint Speedweeks. Other top contenders on the All Stars include Dale Blaney, Brian Paulus, Brandon Martin, Craig Mintz, Paul May, Brock Mayes and local hotshoe Brian Ellenberger.
Those men will face some stiff competition from Tri-City’s top dogs, including former track champions Rod George and Bob Felmlee along with Brent Covell, Todd Bauer, Rob Eyler and Cory Good. In addition, Ed Lynch Jr., who recently won his 200th career feature race, is expected to compete along with other area racers.
The All Stars will compete in time trials, preliminary races and a 30-lap main event. Past All Star winners at Tri-City include Jeff Shepard, Dale Blaney, Steve Smith, Danny Smith, Bobby Allen, Keith Kauffman, Rocky Hodges, Joey Saldana, and Greg Wilson. NASCAR Nextel Cup star Jeff Gordon raced in a 1985 All Star event at Tri-City at 14-years-old.
The Limited Sprints compete weekly at Sharon Speedway. Previously known as the Green Flag Sprints, this will be the first event outside of the Hartford, Ohio, oval for the class. Top contenders include Guy Griffin, Nate Stein, Eric Williams, Jason Scoville, Brandon Spithaler, and Nick Miller.
The Limited Sprints will compete in preliminary events and a 20-lap feature race.
The Thundercars will also race in this special midweek show. The event will offer appearance points only for the class, which includes top guns like Bill Myers, Curtis E. Bish, Cody Manners, Regina Deloe, Charlie McMillen, Josh Seippel, Joe Blake and many more.
In addition, Jim’s Super Market of Cooperstown, Pa., will offer a special dash event called “The Hoagie Haul” that includes lucky race fans and the top six Thundercar drivers in track points. The winner of the dash will collect $100, which is huge money for the trophy-only division, and the fan will receive a party pack of food at an upcoming event courtesy of the event sponsor.
Gates open at 4 p.m. on Tuesday July 3rd with time trials slated for 6 p.m. Adult grandstand admission will be $20.

Ohio Sprint Speedweek Celebrates 25 Years of Great Racing
CAMARGO, IL - The 25th Annual UNOH Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by RacingJunk.com is just about ready to kick into high gear in the Buckeye State. Always a week to look forward to for the past 25 years, this year proves to be no different as a $15,000 point fund is in place to be distributed amongst the Top 10 in points at the end of the week. In addition, the Speedweek promoters have offered a $50,000 bonus to any driver who can win 4 of the 7 events. Will there be a $50,000 winner in 2007?
Drivers were required to pre-register to be eligible for the Speedweek point fund and the bonus money and currently there are 48 drivers scheduled to compete for the additional money at week’s end. There is over $197,000 up for grabs just in scheduled purse money alone. In addition, HoserVille Ohio has stepped up to sponsor the All Star Dash which will pay money to the top dash finishers from the week in a special dash event at the Eldora finale. Ohio Sprint Speedweek is one of the richest weeks of racing in the United States and has attracted many of the top names of the sport from across the country and as far away as Australia.
The week kicks off (unofficially) at K-C Raceway on Saturday June 23rd for the annual “Night The Stars Come Out”. This event does not pay points toward the Speedweek point fund, but is always a good warm-up for the following 7 straight nights of racing through Ohio. The official Speedweek kickoff is on Sunday June 24th at Attica Raceway Park, then on Monday it’s on to Wayne County Speedway. From there the series moves to Waynesfield Motor Sports Park for the first time and will then travel to Hilltop Speedway on Wednesday for another first ever visit. On Thursday, it’s back to familiar Fremont Speedway and then on to Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday. Saturday’s $10,000 to win Speedweek finale will be held at the monster ½ mile Eldora Speedway. As twenty-four Ohio Sprint Speedweeks have already come and gone, fans remember the heroes who have made a lot of left turns in the state of Ohio. Kinser, Saldana, Wolfgang, Swindell, Hood, Huntley, Jacobs, Kerr, and Blaney are just a few of the names who have captured the attention of Ohio fans over the years during Ohio Speedweek. More names will be entered into the history books at the end of next week when the action concludes, signaling the mid-point of the All Star season. It is then that many teams start thinking seriously about trying to win the All Star Championship - depending where they land in the point standings at the end of the grueling week. Wingless Sprint Cars to Invade Gamblers Raceway

Pennsylvania wingless sprint fans have for many years been traveling to the Indy area sometimes on a weekly and biweekly basis to watch wingless sprints. For these people wingless is the traditional sprint car, the way they should be. From time to time a wingless show is held, the yearly show at Mercer comes to mind. Several years ago I tried to organize a series, The Wingless Warriors. Although some tracks showed some interest none were willing to have a show except Tri-City Speedway in Franklin. These great folks at Tri-City gave it a shot, and some observers to this day will tell you after all of the drivers got it figured out it turned out to be one of the best sprint car races they had ever seen.
Now after a six year dry spell, I have been contacted by the management of the New Gamblers Raceway Park in Clearfield, to once again let loose the Wingless Warriors on their racetrack warpath. Together with GM Dick DeLisle we have scheduled the first show for Sunday June 24th. Gates will open at 2pm with racing at 5pm, with this earlier start date working people will be able to get home in a timely fashion. This is an old fashioned “Run What You Brung” competition. It is open to all engine specs from 305 to 410, and including the “Green Flag” type of sprinters.
Sprint car pre-registration is free, registration the day of the show will be $25. You can register by email elp1177@hotmail.com (insert “sprint” in the subject line) or phoning at 814.263.4326, if you see Rick Rarer or Daryl Stimeling at the track they will also have registration flyers. Gamblers regular pit and grandstand admission pricing will be in effect, please check Gamblers website www.gamblersracewaypark.com. Also on tap for the same evening will be 270 & 600 Micro Sprints. I will post more on the Micro Sprints as I receive information.
I ask fans and drivers to please turn out for this event as the continued success of wingless and micros at Gamblers will depend very much on this first show

Tomorrow night May 23rd , Racing Fans Direct will be at Grandview Speedway participating in what should be one of most exciting shows of the season as part of round one of the new Dupont Tyvek Keystone Cup Sprint series . It will be exciting because of the quality of cars , the track itself always produces passing in lap traffic , The Outlaws VS The Posse ,& fan excitement provided always by Thunder On The Hill promotions .
Most tracks provide some fan excitement , but always at Thunder On The Hill it seems like there’s always more Fan entertainment , like giveaways , fireworks at the start, Comdial Communications Sponsorship of prize money for fans & drivers , & yes there’s Joe The Pizza Dude who roams the grandstands giving out free pizza to excited screaming fans .

SPRINTS TO RACE WINGLESS SATURDAY AT MERCER; FREE CRAWFORD COUNTY NIGHT
Mercer, PA)…Mercer Raceway Park will return to action this Saturday night, May 19 in hopes of completing the fifth straight night of action and sixth of the season. While the weekly five divisions, the Luxaire Heating & Cooling Sprint Cars, American Racer/Lias Tire Modifieds, Tire Express Stock Cars, Big Daddy’s Speed Center Mod Lites, and the M&D Paving Mini Stocks will all be action, one twist to the night will be that the Sprint Cars will race wingless! It’s free Crawford County Night presented by Armstrong with racing starting at 7 p.m.
Sprint Car racing has long been associated with Mercer Raceway Park and other than a few All Star races in the 70s, traditional wingless Sprint Car acing was the norm until the 80s. On Saturday night, the wings will be coming off for the first of two times this season highlighted by a $1,500 to-win feature. The second wingless event will take place on Saturday, August 18.
Since 1989, nine wingless events have been run. Four-time track champion, Jamie Smith leads the way with three wins totaling $7,300. Other winners include 2002 and 2003 champion Troy Preston, who won the 1989 event, wingless standout racers Todd Kane (1997), Rob Chaney (2000), and USAC star Mat Neely (2006), and track regulars Rob Eyler (2004) and Doug Stanley (2005).
“We always enjoy having wingless events at Mercer Raceway Park,” explained ninth year owner Vicki Emig. “The fans seem to enjoy it plus it always tightens the competition by adding a new twist. The second free county night takes place Saturday night as all residents who reside in Crawford County will be admitted at no charge. Fans can simply show their ID with a Crawford County city listed and they will be admitted into the grandstands for general admission. All accompanying children will also be free.
“Last year’s Crawford County night was huge,” stated Emig. “We have to thank our great marketing partner Armstrong Cable for helping us to promote the event. If the weather is nice we expect another great turnout.”
Current point leaders heading into Saturday night are Kittanning’s Rod George (Sprint Cars), Grove City’s Steve Young (Modifieds), Sandy Lake’s Brian Booher (Stock Cars), West Middlesex’s Rod Jones (Mod Lites), and Elkton, Ohio’s Lucas Sprouse (Mini Stocks).
Brian Booher has been on a tear winning three of the four point races in the Stock Cars. If Booher wins the feature Saturday night he can make a little history by recording his 24th career win, which would put him on top of the Stock Car win list since the track reopened in 1994. He is currently tied with nemesis, Andy Buckley, who has one victory this season.
After a 25-year absence, the Mini Stock division is back weekly. Just one car showed for opening night, but last week the car count rose to nine for this affordable, amateur division, and we expect more cars in the coming weeks.
Regular admission prices are in effect Saturday with adults just $11, students 6-15 $5, children five and under free, family passes $25, and pit passes $25. Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. with grandstands at 4:30, hot laps at 6:15, and racing at 7.
Mercer Raceway Park is located minutes from both Interstate 79 and 80 just off Route 19 on Fairground Road in Mercer, Pa. OUTLAWS ROLL INTO LERNERVILLE FOR COMMONWEALTH CLASH

The RVs and campers are in the parking lots, haulers at nearby hotels, and tomorrow evening Tuesday May 15, the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars will invade the Sarver 4/10-mile oval for the first time of the 2007 season. Local drivers Ed Lynch Jr., Kevin Schaeffer, Bob Felmlee, and Rod George will do their best to defend the Action Track from an Outlaw invasion.
The “First Commonwealth Bank Clash” will begin at 7:15 for time trials, with heat races slated to start at 8:00. The Commonwealth Clash is the first of two World of Outlaws Sprint invasions of the 2007 season. The second invasion will come later in the summer for the Cleveland Brothers Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XVI on July 17.
The Commonwealth Clash marks the return of “The King” Steve Kinser, “The Dude” Danny Lasoski, Jason , Tim Kaeding, Paul McMahan and other former NST drivers, who are back on tour in 2007 after a year with the now defunct NST Tour. Kinser, a 20-time World of Outlaws Champion, has 15 career wins at the Lernerville Speedway.
Current Outlaws points’ leader Donny Schatz won the 2006 Don Martin Silver Cup XV. Joey Saldana, currently second in points XX points behind Schatz, holds the track record of 12.334 seconds. Also in action Tuesday will be 1993 Lernerville Track Champion Tim Shaffer, now a well-established Outlaw veteran who won the 2005 Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XIV.
Also on the card Tuesday Night will be the 2nd UMP Modified race of the season at Lernerville Speedway. Dave Hess Jr. will be looking to back up his April 17 victory, while Two-time reigning Pure Stock Track Champion Butch Lambert will be looking to pull his e-Mod into Victory Lane like he has done in his pure stock so many times.
The weather looks to be mild, temperatures in the mid-80s and no rain until well after racing has been completed. Ticket prices have been reduced from 2006 rates. General admission is $25 for adults, $22 for Seniors, $20 for students 11-17, 10 & under will be admitted free. For $2 extra dollars you can purchase reserved seats. Pit passes are available for $32. DIRT members can purchase a pit pass for $27. Those wishing to purchase a reserved seat may upgrade to a pit pass by paying the difference in price. LYNCH, FERREE, BOLLAND, PEGHER LEAD LERNERVILLE BUDWEISER POINTS

Sarver, PA (May 8, 2007) With three nights of Budweiser Point Fund racing in the books the 2007 Budweiser Point Standings are starting to take shape.
In the Commercial Truck & Trailer Sprints, “The Apollo Rocket” Ed Lynch Jr. has an eight-point edge over Reigning Track Champion “Cool” Kevin Schaeffer. Lynch has two feature wins, two heat wins, and a third place finish in the only feature he didn’t win. Schaeffer has one win and a second place finish in feature events, along with two heat race wins. Dan Shetler, with two Top Fives and a seventh place finish is third. Gary Rankin and Carl Bowser round out the Top Five.
Alex Ferree’s two wins and a second place finish in three points races has him solidly in the Budweiser points lead in the Friedman’s Freshmarkets Late Model division. With two Top Fives and two heat race wins, Mike Blose sits second, a distant 24 points behind Ferree. Gary Lyle is third, Dutch Davies is fourth, and newcomer Jared Hawkins sits fifth.
The top of the point standings both in the Ferrante Motor Cars Modifieds and Advance Auto Parts Pure Stocks reflect the competitive action on the track in both divisions.

*Greg Wilson Leads O’Reilly All Stars Points Chase***
CAMARGO, IL) 5-6-07 Defending All Star Champion, Greg Wilson, is once again sitting on top of the standings in the 2007 season points chase. Despite a tough night at Attica Raceway Park where Wilson crashed while leading the A-main, he still managed to rack up enough points to put the Verl Warnimont owned #w20 at the top of the heap. Danville, Indiana’s Danny Smith trails Wilson by just 5 points as the All Stars head to Pennsylvania on Saturday to compete with the always tough locals at Port Royal Speedway before heading to Bedford Speedway on Sunday.

Mike Linder finally gets on track for a top-ten finish
Everyone at Andy James Motorsports would like to send a huge thank you to Paul and Tom Kistler and all of their employees. There might even be a big wet kiss thrown in but for right now we will just wait on that. Everyone at Kistler Engines worked very hard to find the “problem” and without their help we still wouldn’t have made any laps this weekend.
Saturday evening was opening night at Fremont Speedway and with the problem solved Mike went out and ran the fourth fastest lap in qualifying, even though he went out near the end. With the heat race next up Mike would start fifth in the first heat along side of quick time Mark Keegan. Once again Mike laid down the throttle and picked up two spots running the very top of the track.
With the feature ready to go, so was Mike and he would begin his “first” race of 2007 in the sixth position. Just wanting to make sure that he gets as many laps as possible no real game plan was laid out for Mike other than to stay on track. That plan was cast aside a couple of laps in when the red number 3 fell a few spots back. Running up top a battle ensued with the 16 who was running the bottom; it would take some time but Mike finally prevailed. Next on the list to get by were the 7 and 8s and this was done in just enough time for the final caution of the night. Even with the valiant effort put forth by Mike he could only make it back up to sixth by the end of the race.

TRI-CITY SPEEDWAY READY TO OPEN ON SUNDAY APRIL 29

FRANKLIN, PA .. Beautiful, summer-like weather dominated the weekend inWestern Pennsylvania, and race teams and fans are itching to get started withthe 2007 season at Tri-City Speedway. The half-mile dirt track opens this coming Sunday April 29th with a fullslate of the 4 Your Car Connection Super Sprints, Schwab's Ford DIRTcar BigBlock Modifieds, RPM Auto Sales/Shawgo Real Estate E Mods, E.F. Rogers Plumbing& Heating Pro Stocks and Klapec Auto Body Thundercars. Gates open each Sundaynight at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m. Adult grandstand admission is $11for each five-star racing show.
"This weekend's weather was perfect," said Tri-City Co-Promoter Mike Graham."We needed sun and warm temperatures to help dry the grounds and allow us to geton the track and do some needed work. The last three weeks of rain and snowhave not been helpful. We'll work at the track throughout the week to getopened. Hopefully, Mother Nature will smile on us next weekend."
Bob Felmlee of Franklin, Pa., will be back this season looking for his fourthcareer Super Sprint title at Tri-City. His season started well with wins atLernerville Speedway and Sharon Speedway already. He is expected to be fast outof the box at his hometrack in 2007. Three-time champion Rod George is expectedto contend for the title once again after engine woes slowed his pace lastseason. Other top winged warriors include Todd Bauer, Brent Covell and AndyMcKisson.
The DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds may have a new division name, but KevinBolland of New Brighton, Pa., is expected to return this season and chase afterhis third title at Tri-City. His greatest nemesis will be Rex King. The two-timeBRP Modified Tour champion has finished second in points at Tri-City for threeyears in a row, and is ready to end his bridesmaid status. Del Rougeux Jr.,Jeremiah Shingledecker, Andy Priest, Russell King and Joe Crawford will be amongthe other title contenders in the open-wheel class.
Brent Rhebergen of Clymer, N.Y., returned to full-time action in 2006 andteamed with Shawn Shingledecker to dominate the E Mods. After capturing histhird track title, Rhebergen will return this season with Shingledecker. Thedynamic duo will be tough competition on the Venango County half-mile oval. MikePotosky, Jim Frontz, Russ Demspey and David Atkinson hope to chase them down inthe title chase.
For the fourth year in a row, the Pro Stock champion will not defend histitle as Bobby Whitling of Seneca, Pa., focuses his efforts on his new E Modrteam. Gerry Bruce (2005), Bruce Smith (2004) and Darrell Bossard (2003) alsodid not return following their championship seasons. Although Whitling isexpected to race on the William R. Karns Plumbing, Heating & Air ConditioningDetroit Iron Pro Stock Series, he will forego the race for a fourth track title.This allows drivers like Doug Iorio II, Dave Ferringer, Rod Laskey, Matt Thomas,and teenage sensation Jackson Humanic to battle for the 2007 championship. Like Whitling, Jeff Manners of Cherrytree, Pa., will not be back to defendhis Thundercar championship as he moves into the Pro Stock division for carowner Bob Tarr. As a result, all eyes will be on Bill Myers and Josh Seippel. Both men will return in 2007 and are clearly the title favorites. Othercontenders include Ed and Regina Deloe, Curt Bish Sr. and Charlie McMillen.

But Lernerville Speedway does have ties to the NCAA tournament again this year, as for the 2nd consecutive season, the State University of New York at Albany won the America East Conference tournament procuring an automatic bid into the "Big Dance." Davey Bauman, son of the late David Bauman and grandson of the late Earl Bauman (both former track promoters), is a junior guard for the Great Danes.
As Davey represents the speedway on the hard court this weekend, the Lernerville Speedway will take center court at the Clearview Mall. Clearview Mall is located on Rt. 8 north of Butler and once again welcomes Lernerville Speedway cars, drivers, and fans to a 3 day car show.
Lernerville Speedway is bringing some "Action" back to its annual Clearview Mall Car Show, on Thursday March 15 - Saturday March 17, with the return of the “Best in Show” award and a new "Fan Favorite" award. The annual car show acts as a springboard for the 2007 racing season and allows teams to publicly display, for the first time, the fruit of winter’s labor, as well as their new sponsors, paint schemes, and equipment. Lernerville recognizes that many local drivers and owners spend a lot of money and countless hours getting their cars ready for the mall show. In recognition, we will once again honor the “Best in Show” for the best car from any of Lernerville's Fab Four racing divisions. In addition, the “Fan Favorite” awards will be given for each class that runs weekly shows at the speedway.
The “Best in Show” winner will be selected by a random panel of track officials and media members. In addition to the “Best in Show” award, fans will be able to vote for their “Fan Favorite” car for each of the “Fab Four” divisions. Voting will take place at the mall until closing on Friday Night. The “Fan Favorite” awards will be given to the top 3 cars in each division with the most votes not selected as “Best in Show”. Winners will be announced Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The “Best in Show” winner will be awarded a plaque and decals to display on their car for the 2007 racing season. “Best in Show” and “Fan Favorite” winners will also be recognized on our website, in various print media, and by the track announcers during the 2007 racing season.

Fans "can" help others and save money at Sharon Speedway this season
New "Two for $2" program benefits Second Harvest Food Bank
HARTFORD, Ohio (March 7, 2007) - Sharon Speedway is providing an instant reward for fans who help feed hungry families in the Mahoning Valley this year through its new "Two for $2" program.
During each night of Fantastic Five points racing, fans who bring two non-perishable food items for Second Harvest Food Bank will receive $2 off the price of an adult general admission ticket. A representative will collect the food outside the gate from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. only. Everyone who donates two non-perishable food items will receive a $2 coupon to present at the ticket window, bringing the price of an adult general admission ticket to just $9. All non-perishable food items are accepted, but canned meats, canned vegetables, tuna fish and peanut butter are needed most.
"We wanted to do something to help the community and help our fans save some money, and the "Two for $2" program does both," said Dave Blaney, Sharon Speedway co-owner. "We hope our fans will help us stock the shelves of Second Harvest Food Bank and enjoy the savings from doing so."
The Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley is the community's effort to relieve hunger through the acquisition, storage and distribution of food and to serve as a resource for education and advocacy. It provides food to 170 hunger relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties, including church pantries, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, shelters for battered women and day care centers. The Food Bank distributes approximately 20,000 pounds of food each day and is providing food to more than 7,400 individuals each week.

Mercer, PA…Mercer Raceway Park has released the 2007 schedule of event as Saturday, March 31 has been set as the 56th anniversary season opener with ULMS Late Models, E-Mods, and the Tire Express open Stock Cars making up the “Chiller Thriller”. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. with the first green flag of the new season set to wave at 7 p.m. Another season of heart-pounding racing excitement and quality family events make up the 28-night slate.
After a one-year hiatus, Luxaire Heating & Cooling will be returning to headline the Sprint Cars. American Racer/Lias Tires will be the Modified divisional sponsor for the second straight year. Tire Express returns for fourth straight year to sponsor the Stock Cars. Mercer Raceway Park is thrilled to welcome the Mod Lites, which will be sponsored by Big Daddy’s Speed Center, and the Mercer Mini Stocks, which are front-wheel-drive four-cylinder cars for amateur racers, to its weekly line-up. The Minis will be a throwback to the popular class in its heyday in the 70s and early 80s. The five-division weekly program will take to the track one week later on Saturday, April 7 with points starting.
“All in all it’s another exciting and action-packed schedule,” explained ninth-year owner Vicki Emig. “We’ve again added some new promotional, discount, and family-type events to this upcoming season. While many people questioned our motives and rationale, we’ve been very happy with how these events have turned out and are glad to be the industry leader in these types of promotions. We feel these types of events are important with the current state of the economy and racing in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio. This year’s loaded line-up includes two ‘Pack the Track’ Fan Appreciation Nights, four $10 Family Nights, Free County Nights, a Welcome Ohio Night, free nights for veterans and scouts, plus the newly added ‘Dollar Dayz’, 4-H Night, Labor Union Night, and NRA Night. It’s no secret that many people today struggle to take their families to the races. We’re hoping these nights continue to allow more fans the opportunity to attend that may have been unable to otherwise.”
“We’ve changed up some of our special events once again to go along with our great five-division grassroots racing weekly program,” stated Emig. We’re again offering more increased purse events to the regional racers than any other speedway in western Pa and eastern Ohio. The best thing about all of our special race events is that they are all so affordable for our fans with either a $13 or $15 adult and $33 or $35 family admission.”
The Sprint Cars will take off their wings on two occasions this year, one on May 19 and the other on August 11. Both races will pay $1,500 to-win and there will be no increase in admission.
For the seventh straight year, Mercer Raceway Park will be the site of a world championship pulling event on Sunday, May 27 at 6:30 PM. The All-American “Spring Nationals” will include the Big Rig Semis, Smoker Tractors, Street Semis, and Street Diesel 4x4 Trucks with a rain date of Memorial Day at 5 PM.
The Hoffman Family will again come together along with Hoffman Door Co. to present the Jeff Hoffman Memorial for the third straight year on June 2. This year’s event will again be contested for the small-block mods in their first of four major events for the year. The winner of the 30-lap modified feature will earn $2,000. A rain date of the following Saturday has been established.
Just over a month later, the Modifieds will have another special event featuring the first of two appearances by New York’s T3 All-Star Series with $1,500 going to the winner of the Wednesday, July 4th special. Adding a huge bonus to this event is the inaugural FASTRAK Northeast Racing Series for the Late Models as they’ll be featured with a whopping $5,000 on the line to the winner of the “Yankee 40”. The Mod Lites will round out the show in a sanctioned event by the Star’s Championship Tour in the second of three appearances.
On July 7 a unique program titled “Stand On It” will be showcased and presented by new marketing partner Truck Rodz by Jones Performance in West Middlesex, PA. For the first time ever racing and drag racing will take place on the same night. Along with our five divisions, Full Pull Productions will present drag racing for Semi Trucks, 4x4 Diesel Trucks, 4x4 Gas Trucks, and an open competition class. There will be no increased admission for this event.
The seventh annual “Sprint Slug-Out” will feature the popular triple 15-lap feature format for the Sprint Cars plus a full show of increased purses on July 28. This event has been plagued by bad weather and was rained out completely last season.
The Bill Emig Memorial will again close out the month of August on the 25th with another $2,000 to-win feature for the Modifieds plus a full show with increased purses. This year’s event will be presented by M&M Insurance Group as the New Castle, PA-based company has stepped up their marketing efforts at the speedway in 2007.
The 19th annual “Western PA Sprint Championship” will is expected to again be the region’s biggest non-sanctioned sprint car event of the season with $3,000 on the line to the winner on September 8. A full show with increased monies will be on tap with points ending for the Sprints, Modifieds, and Stocks.
A second truck and tractor pulling event will fill the schedule on September 15, The USA-East Regional Finals will feature Semi Trucks, “Run What Ya Brung” Trucks, 4x4 Diesel Trucks, 4x4 Gas Trucks, Limited Pro Stock Tractors, and Super Farm Tractors in an invitation-only event. The rain date is Sunday the 16th at 2 p.m.
After a one-week break, the “Little Guy Nationals” will take center stage as the region’s richest support division only event will again feature two packed days of action. Friday, September 28 includes Stock Cars ($1,000 to-win), Micro Sprints ($750 to-win), and Mod Lites ($600). Then Saturday afternoon, September 29 the Stock Cars return for a big $2,000 to-win event. The T3 All-Star Series will return for the second appearance as the winner of the Modified feature will earn $2,000. The E-Mods will also pay $1,000 to-win.
A new event that is sure to catch some attention will happen on June 16. “Crazy 8s” Figure 8 Races will take place on the frontstretch as part of the night’s regular racing program. The first-ever event presented by Coca-Cola has been very successful at fairs throughout the region. Demolition Derbies will take place on June 9, July 21, and September 29 with the July 21 derby being for compact cars only. Kids bike races will be held on May 12, July 14, and August 11.
Due to last year’s overwhelming success, two “Pack the Track” and “Meet Your Heroes” Nights will be held. This will come on May 26 and the second on August 4 and will be presented by Froggy 95.1. Both will feature the following admission prices: $5 adults, $12 families, and $2 for kids 6-15. All of the cars from all divisions will be brought onto the speedway for autographs during intermission.
Four free county nights will be featured including Beaver (April 28), Crawford (May 19), Venango (June 9), and Butler (June 23). The Crawford and Butler County Nights will be presented by Armstrong, who will also present the return of the popular $10 Family Nights. On April 21, May 12, July 14, and August 11, mom, dad, and as many kids 15 and under can attend the races for just $10 (a minimum $15 savings!)
For the third straight year, Welcome Ohio Night will admit all residents of Ohio free on June 30 and we’re proud to welcome on new marketing partner Waffle House with their restaurants in Howland, Girard, Hubbard, and Austintown, Ohio. American Patriot Night will again admit all veterans and scouts in uniform free on June 23.
A new promotion will take place on May 5 and August 18 titled “Dollar Dayz,” which will also be presented by Coca-Cola. On these nights students of any age will be admitted for just $1. Also, for everyone hot dogs, fries, soda, and popcorn will be just $1.
Other discounted events for various entities are the following: $10 family night for 4-H members on July 7, $5 admission for card-carrying labor union members and $5 for their significant other on July 21, $5 admission for National Riffle Association (NRA) members and $5 for their significant other on August 25.
Some of the companies already committed to corporate nights this year include Dean Dairy, General Electric Diesel Engine Plant, Coca-Cola, Yellow Book USA, and Emerson Process Management is expected to return.

Adult admission is $11, students 6-15 are $5, the family pass is $25, children five and under are free and pit passes are $25 for all non-specials and $30 for specials. Season general admission passes are available at a discounted price of $275 and season pit passes are $525. Season VIP rentals are still available and nightly rentals are $150.
