BORDENTOWN, NJ - With the New Year comes excitement.
And Davey Sammons is excited about the upcoming racing season.
The Bordentown, N.J., driver has spent countless hours in his shop preparing for what he hopes to be a memorable and successful season on the United Racing Company Tour. In addition to following the URC circuit, he also intends to run select 410 Sprint Car races in Central Pennsylvania.
He will begin his season at the 24th annual Motorsports 2009 Race Car & Trade Show, January 16 and 17th at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
Sammons' Maxim Chassis No. 79 will be on display in the Bob Hilbert Sportswear booth throughout the weekend. Sammons will be unveiling his race car with a new paint scheme, designed by Radical Design group. Fans will also be able to preview his new 2009 merchandise. He will be available for autographs, at his car, from 12pm-2pm on Saturday, January 17th.
Sammons, the 2006 URC Rookie of the Year, finished ninth in last year's series points chase. His goal for the 2009 season is to finish in top five in the prestigious point chase.
