SYRACUSE, N.Y. – In another major sponsorship announcement, Corky Stockham and his National Parts Peddler Newspaper has joined the nativepoker.com Tour for the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) sponsorship fold in a big way for the 2006 season. The Parts Peddler will be the title sponsor of the nightly halfway bonus, the driver that leads lap 13 of each point show A-Main will collect an extra $100.
It marks the return to one of ESS’ pioneers as Stockham was a big supporter back in the early days of the 1980’s with a tour sponsorship. His widely successful trade publication has graced news stands and race tracks since 1976 and continues to grow with a tireless effort behind the scenes.
Not only does the Parts Peddler come out monthly with the latest in the parts industry from all forms of motorsports but Stockham has also been the force behind his annual Trade Show and Racer’s Auction which will be 27 years old in 2006. Also, a new tradition is the spring Racing Equipment Swap Meet which will be held this weekend at the New York State Fairgrounds. For the first time in 11 years, the event will be held indoors with space still available.
The National Parts Peddler logo will be place on each ESS sprinter for 2006 and his newspapers will be distributed at many of ESS events held throughout the Northeast and Canada. Also, don’t be surprised if you see Corky himself at several events as he is a big fan of sprint car racing.
The first event of the nativepoker.com backed tour will be on Saturday, May 6th with a return visit to the Fulton Speedway. A big field of sprinters will be on hand in attempt to dethrone two-time ESS champion Lance Yonge including the Parts Peddler sponsored sprint of long-time friend Dave Wickham.
A big welcome back to The National Parts Peddler Newspaper and the sponsorship of the nightly halfway bonus. With their involvement, the 2006 season for the Empire Super Sprints continues to grow and promises to be the most exciting in the 24 year history of the successful sprint car organization.
