SYRACUSE, N.Y. – More than 40,000 fans passed through the front doors at the Fort Washington Expo Center for Motorsports 2006 presented by VP Racing Fuels. For the first time ever, they were able to get an up close and personal look at the Empire Super Sprints (ESS).
The immaculate sprint cars of Jessica Zemken and John Karklin Jr. made the trip to Southern Pa. as well. When the weekend was over, the two sprinters took first and second in voting for best appearing cars in the open cockpit division.
Zemken’s car, a Beaber Built prepared by Wayne Patterson, owned by Tom Patterson and sponsored by nativepoker.com was voted best appearing making her an instant hit. Karklin’s self prepared JEI owned by Richard Goff and backed by JCK Timber was right behind with the runner-up honors. More than two dozen other cars were in competition making this a well earned feat for the two race teams.
Not just good looking sprinters made an impact by ESS; it was the first event for the new tour sponsor: nativepoker.com. ESS unveiled their preliminary schedule which is some 37 dates strong. The very best of “America’s Race Cars: will visit Utica-Rome, Can-Am, Autodromes Granby and Drummond, Albany-Saratoga, Cornwall, Edelweiss, Fulton, Frogtown, Brewerton, Brockville, Ohsweken, Rolling Wheels, Canandaigua, Little Valley, South Buxton, Black Rock and the famed Knoxville Raceway. The schedule is still pending with a few more dates a possibility.

Also, ESS stars Doug Emery, Randy Years and Dan Kaszubinski were on hand most of the weekend greeting the big crowd that filled the Expo Center.
