SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A good friend has added his name to become one of the many new sponsors coming aboard the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) Tour 2007 brought to you by Jacobs Motorsports. Sprint car standout Pete Green and the entire Green family have joined forces with Joe Nields to become a major player in the steering unit industry for this season. The merger of GME Manufacturing and Nields Racing Company will house themselves out of New Ringgold, Pa.
Green has been a top winged sprint car chauffeur for several seasons with the United Racing Company 360 series with several excursions up North over the years to run with ESS. With Green and gang making many friends with ESS, he has now given in return with a sponsorship from the new company. At the annual awards banquet, a complete steering unit will be given away to an ESS driver that has faithfully followed the tour for 2007 and displayed the GME logo. Look for several special awards during the year as well.
Green has put his helmet on the shelf for a while to concentrate on the new endeavor. GME has been specializing in steering unit repairs of all brands for several years now while Nields has been a builder of new steering units for even a longer period of time. Nields is best known in the ESS ranks for providing units for eight-time ESS champion Mike Woodring.
