WoO TITLE REMAINS UNDECIDED WITH TWO RACES REMAINING

AKRON, Ohio (Oct. 17, 2010) - Two races remain in the 2010
World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship struggle and, after
crisscrossing North America for the last eight months, the racers haven't
decided anything.

Jason Meyers leads the standings by 96 points over Donny
Schatz. Both Steve Kinser and Joey Saldana are within striking distance.
Decided? No, the whole thing is still up for grabs and will not be decided
until the first weekend of November in Charlotte, N.C.

Goodyear is the Official Tiremaker for the Series and is the
exclusive tire supplier for the two rear tire positions. Most teams use
Goodyear tires on the front positions as well. Goodyear offers a variety of
tread compounds for each event, allowing the teams to use a variety of
chassis setups.

Schatz gained ground on Meyers by finishing fourth in the
most recent WoO race, won by Craig Dollansky at Tri State Speedway in
Haubstadt, Ind.

Saldana finished second at Tri State, followed by Paul
McMahan, Schatz and Dale Blaney. Meyers came home ninth and Kinser was 10th.

Meyers leads the standings with 9,019 points. Schatz has
8,923 and is followed by Kinser with 8,919 and Saldana with 8,901.

Two to Go: Meyers Inches towards title at Tri-State Speedway

Deux, zwei, dos, kaksi: it does not matter what language you say it in. Two may seem like a small number, until you have two items separating you from your goal. In the case of Jason Meyers and Elite Racing, they just have two races to wrap up the 2010 World of Outlaws title. This weekend Meyers crept closer to taking the title home with a top-10 finish at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana.

Meyers started his evening at Tri-State Speedway by recording the 9th quick lap in qualifying. From there, he went on to win the first heat race from the outside pole position in his #14 GLR Investments KPC. That would put Meyers in the dash and secure a top-10 starting spot for the Californian. Meyers would go on to start and finish 7th in the dash, putting him in the 7th position at the beginning of the night's feature event.

Beginning on the 4th row beside Kraig Kinser, Meyers would favor the inside line early in the main event. The inside line seemed problematic for the #14 DDNI KPC as three cars got past it before the first pause in racing action on Lap 5. On the restart, Meyers would be lined up 10th behind title rival Steve Kinser.

When racing resumed, Meyers would start trying out different lines. He first stayed low, gradually moving his line to the high side. While up top, Meyers would gain on 9th place Jason Sides, but could not make the pass. About 15 laps in, the inside line started to pick up steam and Meyers would lose two more positions.

At the halfway point of the 40-lap contest, Meyers was running 12th and moved back into the low groove to try to use it to get under the #63 of Chad Kemenah and Sam Hafertepe Jr. During the long green flag run, Meyers held strong.

With just 3 laps to go, the Yellow Flag would slow the frenzied action on the track. Meyers would restart 12th, but would pick up three positions when Steve Kinser, Chad Kemenah, and Sam Hafertepe Jr. were involved in an incident in Turn 4 with two laps to go. With a green-white checkered start, Meyers would retain the 9th place, finishing one spot in front of fellow title contender Steve Kinser.

Going into the final races of the season Meyers currently holds a 96 point margin over 4-time champion Donny Schatz. Steve Kinser holds the third position just 100 points out. With just two races remaining, Meyers has to finish 21st or better in both races to take the title home to California.

"Right now, we are not just looking for solid finishes in each race," Meyers commented. "We want to end the season winning both the race and title at Charlotte. We have a combination of 24 titles chasing us in the championship, so we cannot lay up. I believe we have a championship caliber team. I just have to go out there and bring home the title for them. Glen (Beaton), Brian (Bloomfield), and Sam (Mathews) have been doing an excellent job with the car this season. We are in very good position right now and are staying focused on the big picture and the ultimate prize, bringing the 2010 World of Outlaws Championship home to California."

Final Approval for Neupert Raceway Park‏

It is my great pleasure to announce that Neupert Raceway Park has received final approval, from Jefferson Township, to construct our much anticipated racing facility! The concept was born in May of 2009, and has manifested into quite an undertaking. Our first proposal township meeting was in July 2009 and we have been busy ever since. A total of 25 twp meetings and 436 days later, NRP can say we are close to bringing the community one more great attraction that the whole family can enjoy!

Our final approval meeting was on Oct. 11th 2010, and we just cannot believe the amount of supporters that attended and packed the township building. Without support from race fans like you, this dream would have fizzled out into a memory.

For those who don’t know, NRP is going to be a high banked, ¼ mile clay oval track, designed for smaller dirt track race vehicles such as Micro Sprints, Mod-Lites, Flat Track Quads and 4 Cylinder Compact Cars. We will be hosting these races on Saturday nights, during the summer. There is a high demand in western Pennsylvania for a race facility that supports these more economical race machines, and it is our pleasure to fully accommodate them.

Our construction date is not yet determined. After we receive our NPDES and septic permit, we are allowed to start excavation. As of now, our pending opening is still May of 2011.

On a more sincere note, I can not thank all of you enough for being the drive and determination of this project. I will strive to do my best and offer you the premier, small car racing facility in western Pennsylvania.

World of Outlaws Sprints Set to Make Inaugural Run at Tri-City Speedway May 30: WoO History Rundown

Franklin, PA...Memorial Day weekend will be a memorable one as the World of Outlaws race into Tri-City Speedway for the first time ever. The World of Outlaws, the premier winged sprint car series in the world, has a long and colorful history. For 32 years, the World of Outlaws tour has been invading racetracks and thrilling fans in 23 different states while sanctioning events at some of the most famous dirt racing facilities in the world.

The series is rich in history and tradition. In 1978 when sprint car racing in the United States lacked a true national series, Ted Johnson, a former midget racer from Madison, WI, organized the World of Outlaws sanctioning body. He established a schedule, a set of rules, and a points system to crown a champion of his series. That inaugural season featured 41 events and drivers such as Steve Kinser, Rick Ferkel, Bobby Allen, Doug Wolfgang and Jack Hewitt.

Jimmy Boyd won the series' first event March 18, 1978 at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX in a non-wing car. This is his only victory in series history. Steve Kinser won his first Outlaws "A" Feature at Eldora Speedway on May 21 and went on to win 11 events and the first championship of what has become a legendary career. Sammy Swindell also won the first two "A" Features of his Outlaws career, and Doug Wolfgang won the Knoxville Nationals at historic Knoxville Raceway.

In 1982, Bobby Davis Jr., the 1980 Rookie of the Year, became the youngest driver to win an Outlaws "A" Feature when he took the checkered flag at Devil's Bowl Speedway, and Brad Dotty garnered top rookie honors.

1987 saw Steve Kinser have the most remarkable season in Outlaws history with 46 "A" Feature victories, including wins in 24 of the final 26 races, an impressive eighth series championship, his fifth Knoxville, Nationals title, his sixth Gold Cup Race of Champions crown, and the short-track record with 56 overall feature victories.

In 1988, rising star and fan favorite, Brad Doty, was left paralyzed from injuries sustained in a crash during the Kings Royal at Eldora. (Brad Doty will be at Tri-City Speedway and will be inducted into the Tri-City Speedway Hall of Fame during this event!)

In 1991 Sammy Swindell won "A" Features at New York State Fair Speedway and Rolling Wheels Raceway, both on October 12. To this day, he is the only driver to win two "A" Features on the same day.

Over the years, many well-known drivers have raced in the World of Outlaws sprints series. They include Steve Kinser, 20 time series champion; Erin Crocker, the first female to win a World of Outlaws main event; and Joey Saldana, who won 20 features in 2009. Several current NASCAR drivers, including Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, and Dave Blaney, also got their starts driving World of Outlaws sprints.

Tri-City Speedway owner, Rich Hetrick says, "The World of Outlaws drivers are the best of the best! This is an event that fans do not want to miss!" Be sure to be part of this amazing racing action!

Hot laps will begin at 6:30p.m. Time Trials start at 7:00p.m.

Pre-Sale tickets are still available by calling the office at 814-676-3000. Pre-Sale ticket purchasers are able to enter the gates at 2p.m. and tickets will be sold at the gate on race night beginning at 3p.m.

Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association Releases Schedule

By Scott Wolfe

STEWART, OHIO-The newly formed Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association (OVSCA), a 410 winged sprint car series based in Stewart, Ohio and sponsored by Hoosier Tire/ Hoosier Tire Ohio Valley among other fine sponsors, has released its inaugural 35-race 2010 racing schedule. Other races are in the negotiation stage, including the possibility of a big three-race weekend.

The hub of the series will be Billy Jarrell's Skyline Speedway, a 3/8 mile red-clay oval between Athens and Coolville, Ohio where much of the Friday night racing action will take place. Twenty-four of the series events are scheduled at the Skyline oval.

Said series mastermind Billy Jarrell, "Putting things in place to make this series a first class venture has been hectic, but everyone involved is very excited. The potential is there for this series to become something really big in the future. Getting sponsorship in place has been crucial in getting this endeavor off the ground and everything is now a go for 2010. I am looking forward to a great season."

"I would like to thank the tracks for coming aboard and giving our racers someplace to race. Being able to have two-night racing weekends has made this financially attractive to our drivers and teams. Besides steady purses, the point money is a driving force in our ability to get top notch teams. Interest has been overwhelming. I can't wait to get the season underway."

Beckley Motor Speedway has two Friday night races paying $2,500 to win, while Saturday night venues include Ohio Valley Speedway in Lubeck, WV with six dates, Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV, and I-77 Motorsports Park in Fairplane, WV. Negotiations are taking place to add future dates.

Ten two-race weekends have made the series appealing for the traveling sprint car drivers. Additionally, sponsors are being touted to bolster the already attractive point fund.

$15,000 has been raised for the series point fund and sprint track champions at Skyline Speedway will enjoy awards typical of those in the past in addition to the series point fund payout. Details of the points and other series policy will be available on the OVSCA website which is under construction at << http://www.ovsprintcars.com/ >> . Hoosier Tire Ohio Valley racetire product manager Todd Frye said. "It's a huge undertaking but one the industry, promoters and racers are glad to see. Many teams and drivers recognize the many years of support and loyalty Hoosier has given the sprint cars and wanted to be able to continue their involvement."
Skyline Speedway owner and Sprint Car team owner Billy Jarrell said, "As a car owner I wanted to go a different route. Many drivers and team owners have expressed the same to me. Several new teams are fielding cars in 2010 creating excitement and demand for the new series. Our hope is this series will be a big boost for sprint car racing in the Ohio Valley and sprint car racing in general."

SPRINT CAR TEAMS MEET TO DISCUSS 2010 SCHEDULE

Sprint car teams from western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio met again on Sunday, January 24 at the Meridian Fire Hall in Butler, Pa., to discuss the future
of 410 sprint car racing at local speedways.

Representatives of the 25 teams present elected a five-person board to act on the behalf of the teams as it pertains to continuing discussions with Lernerville and Sharon Speedway regarding purse payoffs.

Elected to the five person board were (in alphabetical order) Martha Dionese, Bob Felmlee, Kevin Schaeffer, Jack Sodeman Jr., and Eric Williams.

Schaeffer urges teams that were unable to attend the meeting to contact any of the above board members for information.

“With Goodyear providing additional funding to the local race tracks for switching tire brands, our local sprint car teams believe some of the funding should go back into the purse like many other tracks that have switched brands have announced“, Schaeffer said.

Schaeffer added that the teams will support the higher paying special sprint car events at the local speedways in 2010.

TYLER WALKER RETURNS TO CENTRAL PA SPRINT CAR RACING

Reigning ‘King of California’ to Drive Heffner Racing Enterprises #27

Hellertown, PA (January 13, 2010)…Tyler Walker, 2009 Golden State Challenge Series King of California, has been named lead driver of Heffner Racing Enterprise’s Lelands.com-sponsored #27 car for 2010. The former World of Outlaws Gumout Series champion’s first race as a member of the PA Posse will be the Icebreaker 30, Lincoln Speedway’s season opener, on Saturday, February 27 at 2 p.m.

"I'm grateful to Mike Heffner for the opportunity and cant wait to work with Dennis Koehler, a long time friend and someone I have a great deal of respect for,” says Walker. “I really miss the big and fast tracks and look forward to being back in a more competitive series. I can’t wait to join the PA Posse and see the longtime fans I have in Pennsylvania. They’re the best fans in the country!”

Walker, nicknamed ‘T-Dub’, replaces veteran sprint car driver Sean Michael, who will spend much of the coming season serving as crew chief for his brother, URC champion Curt Michael. Still recuperating from a shattered knee, Sean will drive select races for Heffner Racing next season, providing they don’t conflict with the #5G schedule.

Heffner Racing Enterprises’ owner Mike Heffner is excited about adding Walker, known for his thrilling, high energy driving style, to the team. Only entering its second full season, Heffner Racing has already worked with some of the best drivers in sprint car racing. After a devastating crash last May sidelined Sean for the remainder of the season, Sprint Car Hall of Famer Keith Kauffman filled the seat, securing the team’s first win.

“Every new team dreams of winning races, and we’re no different. Making it to victory lane last year was one of the happiest days of my life—an indescribable feeling. I believe Tyler can get us there again. And again and again. He’s enthusiastic, aggressive and wants to win as much as we do,” says Heffner.

In addition to being 2009’s Golden State Challenge Series King of California (during which time he broke the single season record for wins in the series), T-Dub was also named USAC Silver Crown Series Most Improved Driver in 2004 and World of Outlaws Gumout Series champion in 2002 when he won sixteen races during the season.

Walker is credited with originating the celebratory backflip off his racecar, his signature victory lane move, which has since been copied by several other drivers

“I like to have fun on and off the track and I expect Heffner Racing and I to have a great time this season,” concludes Walker.

For more information on Heffner Racing Enterprises, including team bios, schedules, photos, and news clips, visit www.HeffnerRacing.com. To learn more about Tyler Walker, visit www.TylerWalker.com.
